With an aesthetic shape, this medium size, laying deer antler beam is complimented with a very attractive texture. Then, with the perimeter of the burr as a guide, a series of fluidly intersecting valleys were carved in the pedicle and colored with white pearlescent ink, then highlighted with light blue, to create a star-like design. From an astronomical perspective, the blue-white star Vega is one of three stars in an asterism - or noticeable star pattern - called the Summer Triangle, visible in the early evening beginning around June to the end of each year. It is the fifth brightest star visible from Earth, at about 25 light-years away. With a surface temperature of 17,000, it’s about 12,000 degrees hotter than our own sun. It’s already middle aged and only has about another 500 million years of light left in it. And you think you’ve got problems…
